About Gemma

I graduated from university in 2005 with a BA Hons degree in equine studies having a particular interest in anatomy & physiology. More recently I completed my ESMT passing with distinction. I have worked within the equine industry for many years & have experience in breaking, schooling, re-training & competing many different horses. I have worked on a variety of yards gaining a wealth of experience & knowledge from racing & hunting to international dressage yards. This is where my passion now lies & I currently compete my own horse at BD advance medium level who I have backed & produced from 3 years old.

My Services

I am fully insured & certified equine sports massage & rehabilitation therapist. Covering Gloucestershire, Bristol & Wiltshire. I am available to travel further afield for group bookings.
All work carried out is in accordance with the veterinary surgeons act 1966. Which states that veterinary consent must be obtained before working on any animal.

Equine Sports Massage

£40 per treatment.

Sessions usually take approximately one hour and includes an overall assessment of your horse. I will discuss your horses history & evaluate conformation at rest & during motion (usually walk & trot). I will work over the whole horse and use a mixture of sports massage techniques & stretches to relieve tension.

Discounts of £5 per treatment for multiple

bookings at the same yard on the same day.

"60% of the horses body weight is muscle. Small muscle injuries can take up to 90 days to become apparent (attitude, decreased performance & lameness). Prompt attention can enhance the horse's performance & prevent further problems in the future or more serious injury"

I am available to teach privately or in groups.
Private lessons are £25 for 45 mins plus additional arena hire.
Please contact me to discuss any group bookings.
I train all ages and abilities of horse & rider from a nervous novice to more experienced combination.
I teach dressage, jumping & confidence building. Particularly focusing on giving people confidence, providing them with knowledge & exercises so they and their horse can form a partnership as a team.
I also teach monthly pole & grid work rallies at local venues.
